OBJECTIVES

To evaluate the ease of use of the CSUF Certificate Program registration on a mobile device. 6 participants were recruited for a moderated in-lab usability testing session.

SCENARIO SETUP

Participant accesses their selected program page on device of their choice and is encouraged to get more information and enroll in a selected class.

OBSERVE

Is the participant able to access all the information on a mobile device? Are there any limits to the data shown on the site?

CHALLENGE

We analyzed the data and created recommendations for the improvement of the site. Upon review, the CSUF Certificate program page was determined to have a lot of problems. Entire site is text heavy and there is no clear hierarchy of topics so it is very difficult to read. The table is not responsive so the users had difficulties to find the information they were looking for. Pain points were identified with the research group illustrating which specific parts are problematic and put the recommendations for improving them on the report.
