DREAM AND STRESS RELATIONSHIP STUDY

UX RESEARCH

Findings

OBJECTIVES

UX Research conducted through a survey and finding opportunities for sleep optimization by looking at the relationships between dreams, stress, and waking life.

RESEARCH QUESTION

Does the person who is insecure about his/her personality or life have more nightmares than the person who is confident in his/her life?

SURVEY

This survey contained questions about one’s dream frequency, their perceived level of self confidence, and their stress levels.

The survey had a total of 10 participants and 10 responses.

FINDINGS

The survey results were analyzed to uncover different findings related to dreaming, one’s confidence level, and their stress levels.

OPPORTUNITY

  • Won’t be a wide product, but it’s a product that could significantly help a small group of people who are experiencing disturbances in their sleep due to nightmares

  • Opportunity to tap into a market of individuals who suffer from frequent nightmares

RECOMMENDATIONS

Create a product that helps people sleep better, dream less/have nightmares less, and reduce stress levels

Pre-bedtime meditation app that aims to decrease occurrence of nightmares by lowering stress levels

Although people may not be having nightmares, a pre-bedtime meditation can help them reduce their overall stress levels

NEXT STEPS

Analyze competitors

Research competitors

Create a prototype

Test the prototype with people to see if it reduces their amount of nightmares and decreases stress levels

CHALLENGE

I researched about the relationship among dreams, stress, and waking life. It seems like a relationship existed so I created the survey to test the hypothesis from the sample group. By analyzing the survey result, we researched the market and found an opportunity to tap into a market of individuals who suffer from frequent nightmares by creating the product that people sleep better and reduce stress levels.
